About Madinah Quill

Bismillah.

Madinah Quill is a library of return.

It is a home for Prophetic praise: Qur’anic honour, curated ṣalawāt, and brief devotional reflections, written so remembrance becomes companionship, and companionship turns the heart back to Allah ﷻ through His Beloved Messenger ﷺ.

Why this exists

Madinah Quill exists for the moment the heart says: I need to come back.

Some of us are distracted. Some of us are consistent but tired. Some of us keep slipping, and refuse despair. We do not write to perform knowledge. We write to soften the chest, refine the gaze, and help the heart return without shame.

The governing circuit

This project is built on one clean circuit:

Allah ﷻ praises him ﷺ.
We praise him ﷺ.
We return to Allah ﷻ.

Everything here is meant to rejoin that circuit.

What you will find here

Madinah Quill carries two currents, held in one sanctuary.

A Portrait in Revelation
We sit with the Qur’an’s honouring of the Messenger ﷺ, and let revelation educate reverence from above.

These entries are written to help us read with adab, clarity, and awe, until the Qur’an becomes companionship, not only information.

The Salawat Reservoir
We return with prayers of praise, and let repetition train companionship from within.

These entries keep the Arabic at the center, with transliteration and translation as servants, and reflections that turn the words into a lived return to Allah ﷻ through love of the Prophet ﷺ.

How to use this library

Begin small.

Choose an entry. Read it slowly. If you can, let the Arabic pass your tongue.

Then return again.

This is not a project of dramatic spiritual claims. It is a project of steady companionship. A way of keeping the tongue in noble company until the heart begins to resemble what it loves.

Our boundaries, for the sake of adab

We write as seekers, with reverence, care, and restraint.

Madinah Quill is not:

  • a platform for argument, polemics, or winning

  • a performance of scholarship

  • a promise factory for spiritual outcomes

  • a replacement for teachers, community, or the lived Sunnah

We aim for writing that is pleasurable to read and difficult to forget, without exaggeration, without invention, and without false certainty.

Love must have form

Love is real when it becomes Sunnah.

We do not treat love of the Prophet ﷺ as a mood we chase. We ask Allah ﷻ for love, we protect it with adab, and we give it a form we can keep: remembrance, imitation, restraint, mercy, and the careful shaping of character.

The craft, and why it matters

Beauty is not decoration. Beauty is one of the ways guidance becomes habitable.

This project is shaped by a love of language, Arabic and English, and by the discipline of close reading. We care about structure, clarity, and the quiet geometry of meaning, because the reader deserves a page the soul can rest inside.

We write for humans first, but we also keep the archive clear and searchable, so the library can be found by those who are looking for a door back.

Custodian

Madinah Quill is curated and maintained by Mubashir Choudhry.

If you notice an error in Arabic, transliteration, or meaning, or you have a correction that improves fidelity and adab, you are welcome to reach out. This library is built with love, and it is protected by careful revision.

An invitation

If you are returning after a long absence, you are not late.

Send blessings and peace upon him ﷺ, with presence, and begin again.

O Allah ﷻ, return us to You through love of Your Beloved Messenger ﷺ, and make remembrance a companionship that reforms us. Amin.
